About the Virtual Career Center

Welcome to the Virtual Career Center! The VCC is an ongoing collaborative project administered through Career Services.

In 2005, AATYC along with ADHE initiated a pilot project, a virtual environment in which skills assessment, career exploration, resume development, employer research and job search support would be available to all Arkansas students at their convenience. We wanted a place for employers to advertise job vacancies and career opportunities locally, browse job candidates' resumes local and statewide, and (eventually) conduct virtual interviews.

There are commercial platforms to support many of these services, and every one comes with a hefty price tag. We're a frugal bunch, and refused any purchase whose cost would have to be borne by students. Instead, we turned to the talents of Susan Holmes and AJ McDonald at NWACC who worked to translate dreams into reality (virtual, that is!). Our Webmaster, AJ McDonald, invested countless hours in research and design to meet our needs, and wrote literally thousands of lines of script to produce what you see today.
